My name is Scott Swanigan, and J3 Analytics is my fledgling project.

I write trading algorithms as a hobby and invest my own money using them. This is where I share what I'm working on — my ideas, my wins and losses, and the lessons I pick up along the way.

A bit about me: I'm a veteran IT executive with 30+ years spanning investing, finance, and quantitative trading. My technical background covers IT program implementation, application development, quality engineering, and IT service solutioning, with a lot of time spent leading teams that delivered both AI-based and traditional applications.I bring the same discipline to investing that I bring to technology — data-driven analysis anchored in sound principles and historical precedent. I've found that rigorous, evidence-based thinking cuts through the market noise and leads to better outcomes over the long haul.

Every weekend I post a weekly report on the blog section of this site. Right now it's focused on my best-performing algorithm, APEX, along with my reflections on where the market's been and where it might be headed.
